Yangjibulak Gr
Type Locality and Naming
NE Tarim Basin. The Yangjibulak Gr was named by Gao Zhenjia, Wu Wenkui et al. in 1960. The naming locality is Yangjibulak, south of Pargang, East Kuruktag, Xinjiang Weiwuerzhu Zizhiqu (Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region).
Synonym: (杨吉布拉克组)
Lithology and Thickness
The group is neritic clastic rock association, which experienced low-grade metamorphism. It is composed of meta-sandstone, metamorphosed feldspar sandstone, meta-siltstone and sericite phyllite.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It is in unconformable contact with underlying Xingditag Gr
Upper contact
The top of the upper subgroup unconformably overlain by the Aierjigan Gr (Airjigan G)r.
Regional extent
NE Tarim Basin. East Kuruktag, Xinjiang. It is distributed Yangjibulak region south of Xingditag-Qinggir and Pargantag. In transverse direction it varied greatly both in lithological character and thickness. In Qinggir- Aierjigan Daban area it is dominated by metamorphosed sandstone, sericite chlorite schist accompanied with marble, where it is only 650 m thick. In Xingditag region, the group of 2547 m thick. Along the strike the group is equivalent to upper stratigraphic horizon of Bowamu Gr.
